After only scoring two touchdowns so far in the preseason, the Chiefs have fired offensive coordinator Chan Gailey. Head Coach Todd Haley will assume all playcalling duties. Sure the offense was horrible, but is firing your OC two weeks before the season the right thing to do? Certainly smells of desperation to us. But our sources tell us that this was inevitable from the beginning. Haley was never going to sit on the side and let the offense struggle. That’s not in his character make-up. Look for a slow start, however, for the Chiefs offense despite the change.
