Thursday, October 22nd, 2009The crew working the Florida/Arkansas game has been suspended for one game by SEC officials. After several questionable calls, all seemingly going in Florida’s favor, many fans have questioned the integrity of the SEC conference. This was the same crew that called a absurd excessive celebration penalty on Georgia’s AJ Green just a few weeks ago. Of course, bad calls happen in every game. But the SEC has moved swiftly and decisively to stamp out any question of unfairness. By suspending this crew, they have sent the message that bad officiating, like we have seen, will not be tolerated.

A strong running game, playmakers at receiver, and the meanest defense in the land make Nick Saban’s team the best in the country. After dismantling the heavily pre-season hyped Ol Miss Rebels, the Tide sent a message to would be pretenders. It looks like they are on a collision course with Florida in the SEC Championship game. Every college football fan will be the winner in that contest.

In recent years, Matt Leinart and Vince Young have made strong cases. And any discussion of the greatest of all time should include Tommy Frazier and Charlie Ward. But put Tebow at the top if, IF he leads the Gators to another title.
